Making the most of Prime day as a merchant: July 11th – 12th

Prime Day is back in 2023 for a jam packed week of sales. Falling on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th July and covering 12 countries, it’s an opportunity to kickstart Q3 with success. Prime Day has seen a 10% year on year growth †, and 33% are planning to spend more this year †, so don’t be left in the dust, and get your campaigns Primed and ready!

Consider your categories

Almost every category has sales on over Prime Day, however we’re going to see some categories outpacing others. Apparel, beauty and tech are leading the way as the most popular categories. Consumer electronics are responsible for many of the trending keyword during this period; there’s a 529% increase in searches for ‘macbook air amazon prime day’ †. Whilst it’s clear people are looking to see big savings on pricier items, 61% are looking to purchase household essentials during Prime Day †, meaning there is potential to make conversions on people’s monthly non-negotiable items too. It’s clear Prime Day covers almost every category out there, so no matter your vertical, it’s a shopping holiday where you can carve your piece of the pie.

No doubts about it…

Prime Day seems to be combatting some consumer doubt, with 31% planning to buy large ticket items they’d only purchase on sale†, and 49% of consumers planning to buy 4 or more items†. Consider altering your budget during this period to make the most of a huge spike in searches and purchases. There’s an estimated 12B sales worldwide† during the Prime Day period so consider adjusting your ROAS targets this week for maximum impact.
